Paul Ney enlisted on 23 June 1942 at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

According to the division commander, Sgt. Paul J. Ney became ill and complained of a pain in his left side. Despite treatment, he died the same day. His illness was diagnosed as coronary occlusion.
