T/Sgt Paul W. Shannon attended high school for 4 years.

He volunteered for the US Army in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 16 July 1942. He was killed by a sniper bullet during the fight for a hotel on the northeast edge of Fraulautern.
He was first buried at Temporary American Military Cemetery Limey, France.
