Capt Stephen B. Gilliard graduated from Penn State College in 1935. Later he was a member of the Penn State College Military Department for four years after attending the Officers Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia and a stay at Fort Jackson, North Carolina.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
