Capt Steve C. Bohunicky attended high school for four years and was employed at the New Jersey Zinc Company of Pennsylvania as a clerk before he enlisted at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland on 5 June 1941.

Capt Bohunicky was killed by artillery fragments when he went forward on his own to check the situation.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
