Pfc Joseph J. Bienlein was a general industry clerk before he enlisted at Fort Jay, New York on 26 September 1942. He was sent overseas to the Aleutians in 1943 for 10 months and was sent overseas to Europe in October 1944.He was killed by a sniper, while giving aid to one of the wounded men.
