Pfc Thomas N. Parmley was employed at the U.S. Army Engineers Depot before he enlisted in Peoria, Illinois on 14 May 1943.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Saint-Juan, France.

He is remembered on a monument near the town of Saulx.
