Drafted and stationed in Hawaii, 1942-1943, returned to the Continental U.S. and then re-assigned to the European Theater and sent to France and Belgium. Killed in Belgium shortly before the Battle of the Bulge.

Sgt. Glen W. Bredlow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Bredlow, farmer living in Liberty township southwest of Garner, died Dec 6, from wounds received in action.
His father received the telegram from the war department Monday noon. Sgt. Bredlow was believed to have been stationed in the western front in Holland. The telegram stated that a letter would follow.
Mrs. Glen Bredlow has received the purple heart awarded posthumously to her husband, Sgt. Bredlow, for military merit and wounds received in action from which he died Dec. 6, 1944. Sgt. Bredlow was in the coast artillery and was last stationed in Holland.
Mrs. Bredlow and daughter, Glenda, who was born since the death of her father, are staying at the parental Franklin Bredlow home.
