T/5 Howard J. Ward attended high school for three years and was a plasterer.He enlisted in Altoona, Pennsylvania on 2 November 1942 and was sent to Camp Blainding, Florida, Bend, Oregon and then to Los Angeles, California. He was sent overseas in March 1944.
He was of African American origin.
