More information

Pfc Walter Wally's father immigrated from Poland when he was eight under his original name Wasniewski.

He was a professional golfer. He was the course pro at several clubs including West Shore Country Club and Bob-O-Link.

Pfc Wally joined his unit only a few days before he was killed by small arms fire from a sniper. This sniper had let the rest of the company go past him and then opened upon the unarmed medics.
