2nd Lt Russell Mc Donald joined the U.S. Army Reserve in Anherst, Massachusetts on 21 October 1942.He graduated from Massachusetts Agriculture College with the class of 1943 where he majored in History. He participated in cross country where he was the Captain of the team and was a member of ROTC and the Newman Club.
He is remembered on the family gravestone at the Saint Joseph Cemetery in North Brookfield, Worcester County, Massachusetts.
