Pfc William A. Gervais Jr. enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 22 July 1942. He volunteered for the Rangers in September 1943 and participated in the attack on Pointe Du Hoc in Normandy on 6 June 1944 and the Battle for Brest.He was declared officially dead one day and one year after he was reported missing in action.
