Pvt Austin S. Frost Jr. enlisted in Albany, New York on 8 March 1943. He was sent overseas in February 1944 and served with a medical detachment of the 15th General Hospital in Wales, Scotland, England and Belgium before he was transferred to the 1st Infantry Division.He was slightly wounded on 18 November 1944 in Belgium.
He was wounded in action on 24 January 1945 while administering first aid to a wounded soldier. At that time his unit was south of Büllingen, Belgium. He died of his wounds seven days later.
