Pfc Lloyd F. Coolidge attended two years of college before he enlisted on 27 January 1941 in Los Angeles, California. He originally served in Alaska with the 53rd Infantry Regiment of the 7th Infantry Division arriving there in May 1943. He was later sent to the European theater.
