More information

Pfc Robert W. Kent enlisted in Fort Dix, New Jersey, on 11 May 1944.

He entered the U.S. Army as a Private. He attended 1 year of high school, worked as a chauffeur or driver and was married. Prior to his enlistment, he was an employee of the Charles E. Smith Trucking Company. He received his basic training at Camp Blanding, Fla., and was then transferred to Fort Meade, Md., where he was stationed until going overseas. He left a wife and two small children behind: son John, 3, and daughter Donna, 1 year old.

He was killed on February 24, 1945, by the same shell that killed John M. Kelly and wounded Platoon Guide John Usher.
