T/Sgt Joseph Buranich attended high school for three years.

He joined the Regular Army in Dublin, Georgia on 8 March 1939. He served in the Panama Canal Zone for three years. After returning to the States, he was sent to Europe only three months before he was killed.

He was reported seriously wounded in action on 10 April 1944. At that time his unit was engaged in the battle for Attendorn, Germany. It is not known to which location he was evacuated and where he died.

Two of the brothers, Nicholas and Cyril, served in the U.S. Navy.
