Pfc Murvyn V. Brannan attended high school for four years and attended the University of Nevada. He was employed at McNiel Construction Company.

He volunteered on 8 December 1942 at Reno, Nevada.

He was awarded the Bronze Star for routing German armored column by rapid fire action that resulted in his death. Action took place just across the Roer river.

The photo on the right shows Murvyn with his mother, just before leaving for active service.
